The project Scriptease Editions has developed its activity by editing various graphic objects, adopting as theirs the words of Antonin Artaud, a writer who at the end of World War II wrote in the margin of a drawing the following words: «Jamais réel et toujours vrai.»
We work in one side, then on the other. We work in the deliberate violation of reason, in the production of events and behaviors that are obviously ilogical and narratives that tend to involve bizarre juxtapositions,
non-sequiturs, irrational or absurd situations and expressions of non-sense but we also work within the boundaries of logic, one of the ingredients of the classical Trivium, with grammar and rhetoric.
Etymology of Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric.
Logic from Logike. Grammar from Grammatike Tekhne, which means Art of Letters, from Gramma,
Letter, itself from Graphein, To Draw, To Write. And Rhetoric derived from Rhetorikós, Oratorical, from Rhetor, Public Speaker.
Scriptease Editions is a founding member of Lisbon Neo-Surrealist Movement.
